LAS VEGAS – The Commercial Alliance Las Vegas (CALV) has postponed its annual educational symposium until next fall.

The event for local real estate professionals was originally scheduled for Sept. 15 at the Orleans Hotel & Casino. CALV planned to present the day-long event in conjunction with the local chapter of SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors®) and the Southern Nevada CCIM Chapter.

However, CALV President Petra Latch said the organization’s board of directors decided this week it was best to postpone the event until next fall, “when this ongoing pandemic has hopefully subsided. With a return to mask mandates and uncertainty about social distancing and other requirements, we decided it was best to postpone this premier event until next year when people can feel more comfortable attending.”

Latch, whose professional designations including being a member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), said CALV still plans to feature a presentation on cyber security by fraud prevention expert Frank Abagnale. The best-selling author of several books, he is best known as the inspiration for the main character in the hit movie “Catch Me If You Can.” After going from con man to consultant, his perspective and counsel have guided not only the FBI, but more than half of all the Fortune 500 companies in America.

For more information or refunds for those who already registered for the symposium this year, call CALV at (702) 784-5050.
