Big changes planned for building, including ground floor and rooftop eateries

LAS VEGAS – Dapper Companies, headed by local real estate developer J Dapper, continues to make a mark in Downtown Las Vegas, purchasing the office and retail building at 201 S. Las Vegas Boulevard and the adjoining parking lot at 200 S. 6th Street.

Dapper purchased the property for $5,660,000 and will be investing more than $8 million on this noteworthy corner just a block from Fremont Street.

Among one of Las Vegas’ most historic buildings, 201 S. Las Vegas Blvd. was built in 1975 by famed architects Walter Zick & Howard Sharp, who designed many notable buildings in Las Vegas, including the Moulin Rouge Hotel (demolished in 2010), The Mint (now part of Binion’s), the First National Bank of Nevada Building on East Carson and Clark High School, among others. It was originally known as the Nevada Savings and Loan Association Building.

Dapper says big changes are ahead for both the exterior and interior of the building, including the 30,000 square feet of office space that will be redesigned by Bunnyfish Studios and Henriksen/Butler, a company known for creating spaces to work, learn and heal.

“I definitely have a vision of what I’m looking to create,” says Dapper. “This is a remarkable corner in Downtown Las Vegas that is poised for high-end, creative office space that is rare to find in the area. We’re going to redesign the ground floor to include extraordinary food & beverage offerings and convert the roof for culinary space. I’m incredibly excited about this project and what it will add to this growing area of downtown.”

The interior and exterior renovations will be designed by Bunnyfish Studios.

Dapper Companies continues to be one of the most active developers in Downtown Las Vegas, having completed the renovation of the former Gamblers Book Club at 630 S. 11th Street, purchasing and developing the Huntridge Center at Charleston Blvd. and Maryland Parkway, in addition to properties for future development.
