View-1The Galleria at Sunset is undergoing a $24.1 million, 30,000-square-foot expansion, adding six new restaurants, an outdoor plaza and new main entrance. It marks only the second addition since the mall opened in 1996. Whiting-Turner Contracting is the general contractor, with RTKL Associates as architect. The project will refurbish all entrances to the 1-million-sq.-ft. enclosed shopping and dining complex, on 45 acres, at 1300 W. Sunset Road in Henderson. Three restaurants – Bravo!, Larsen’s and the Sugar Factory – are expected to open the spring of 2015. Co-owned and managed by Forest City Enterprises, the Galleria at Sunset last underwent an expansion in 2002 when an 121,000-sq-ft. northeast addition gave the mall a fifth anchor tenant with Dick’s Sporting Goods. The Y-shaped, dual–level enclosed center last year underwent a $7 million makeover that upgraded and modernized common areas with landscaping, seating and fountains. The project also improved the 11-vendor food court while adding space for new tenants such as Boutique Talulah, Bath & Body Works, and H&M.
