The Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS® (GLVAR) plans to move into a new home in late Fall of 2017. Located just north of Sunset Rd on Rainbow Boulevard, near the 215, GLVAR’s new headquarters will feature classrooms big enough to seat 300 members, and accommodate member services. Construction is slated to start in January 2017.
The 30,000 square foot facility will be constructed as a two-story, concrete tilt-up building. It will be built with a focus on Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED). LEED-certified buildings are resource efficient. They use less water and energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thereby saving money. Windows will adorn the southern portion of the building facing Rainbow Blvd. The exterior color scheme of tan and brown are designed to blend in with the surrounding desert environment. There will be plenty of parking, with approximately 380 spaces surrounding the building.
The renderings are preliminary and do not represent what the final building will look like. The design team will continue to work with the architect and general contractor to provide input on the interior and exterior design, incorporating elements that will foster community-building among members. Current plans call for an open space environment, with inside and outside areas for members to collaborate. Plans also call for opening up the space in the new building for use by other organizations as a strategy for collaboration and non-dues revenue generation.
