LAS VEGAS  Out of an abundance of caution for NAIOP Southern Nevada members, staff and the public, NAIOP Southern Nevada will cancel its March 19 and April 16 breakfast meetings.

With the recent worldwide spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Board of Directors and staff of NAIOP Southern Nevada are taking unprecedented precautions and are continually monitoring this rapidly evolving situation. This includes tracking and following the latest guidelines and recommendations of public health authorities, including the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) and others.

In addition to canceling its monthly breakfast meetings that typically attract hundreds of its members, NAIOP Southern Nevada’s Spotlight Awards event scheduled for March 28, 2020 at Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa has been postponed until further notice. All other upcoming association activities and events will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are subject to change based on requirements and recommendations of public health authorities.

NAIOP Southern Nevada Executive Director Katrina Bruce said the association is strictly adhering to the latest public health policies and recommendations and is encouraging its members and the public to do the same. If you’re feeling sick, stay home. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Wash your hands as recommended. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, dispose of the tissue in the trash and then wash your hands. Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, like your phone, keys and computer.
