Urban Land Institute Nevada (ULI) Nevada, the local chapter of a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities, has announced 11 recipients of its Inaugural Placemaking Awards for Excellence.

The Placemaking Awards for Excellence recognize real estate projects that embrace the creation of public spaces which promote people’s health, happiness and well-being through planning, design and management.

“ULI Nevada is proud to recognize the winners of its inaugural Placemaking Awards that leverage arts, culture and design as mechanisms for strengthening communities,” said Stephanie Vause-Garcia, Chief Strategy Officer for the city of Henderson and current chair of ULI Nevada. “The 2018 ULI Nevada Placemaking winners embody many of the development trends shaping real estate and communities today.”

ULI Nevada received 25 submissions for the Placemaking Awards, each representing a variety of development types, including urban mixed-use, master-planned residential, hospitality, institutional projects, retail and public transportation. Submissions were juried by members with expertise in development, architecture and economic development.

The 11 Award recipients were honored at a celebration on Nov. 15 at World Market Center attended by nearly 100 community leaders and real estate professionals who passionately promote the responsible use of land in our community.
