GLVAR Home Prices Maintain Steady Rise
Valley Home prices increased for the eighth straight month, driven by a tight housing supply and a record number of short sales, reports the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors (GLVAR). Median single-family home sale prices were $140,000 in September, up 1.4% from in August and 13.5% higher than one year ago. Meanwhile, single-family home sales decreased 17.8% in September compared to a year ago. “As long we continue to have such a short supply of homes listed for sale, prices have the potential to keep increasing,” said GLVAR President Kolleen Kelley. “If you look at the asking prices of homes being listed for sale, they’re up across the board by double digits compared to this time last year.”
