The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors (GLVAR) presented its annual awards this week to some of its leading members, including J.C. Melvin, who was named Realtor of the Year. Other GLVAR award winners for 2014 included:
- Gene Nebeker Memorial Award for professionalism and service to the GLVAR and the community – Janet Carpenter, of Signature Real Estate Group.
- Ronn Reiss Award for educational excellence and leadership – Neil Schwartz, of Coldwell Banker Premier Realty.
- Sala/Rubin Award (formerly called the Frank Sala Award and renamed this year to also honor longtime GLVAR leader Marv Rubin) recognizing long-term commitment to grassroots political action and to protecting private property rights – Rocky Finseth, president and CEO of Carrara Nevada and a longtime lobbyist for GLVAR and the Nevada Association of REALTORS®.
- Jack Woodcock Distinguished Service Award – This inaugural award was presented to its namesake, longtime local REALTOR® and politically active community leader Jack Woodcock, of BHHS Nevada Properties.
- GLVAR Hall of Fame inductees – Bette Leal, of Century 21 Consolidated; David Berg, of Elite Realty; and Ms. Ronnie Schwartz, of Coldwell Banker Premier Realty.
