JMA President Tom Schoeman RetiresJMA Architecture Studios President Tom Schoeman has retired after 32 years. The move follows the sale of JMA this summer to Moon Township, Penn.-based Michael Baker Corp. in an all-cash deal. JMA is a privately held architecture, planning and interior design practice with a single office and 40 employees. The firm had $10 million in billings in 2010, or 75% less than five years prior when Architectural Record ranked JMA as the nation’s 45th largest architecture firm with 200 employees and $40 million in billings. Schoeman served as president of the Las Vegas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1984 and received the AIA Nevada Silver Medal in 1998. Schoeman will remain in Nevada, but plans to spend extended summers in San Diego and travel throughout the year.
