David N. Bowers today was promoted from city engineer to public works director for Las Vegas, Nev. He joined the city as a program manager in 2005. Bowers will oversee 250 employees and $80 million in annual infrastructure projects, while maintaining 1,258 miles of roadway, 1,640 miles of sanitary sewers and 330 miles of storm drain channels. He is an active member of the American Public Works Association and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
