RLB Third Quarter Construction Costs Rise SlightlyConstruction put in place during June was estimated at $842.1 billion, which is 0.4% above the revised May estimate, reports the U.S. Commerce Dept. The total value of construction for the first six months of this year was $387.1 billion, 9.0% above the same period in 2011. However, most of the gains can be attributed to higher construction costs, reports Rider Levett Bucknall. The national average increase in construction cost between April 1, 2012 and July 1, 2012 was 0.22%.
