LAS VEGAS – City of Las Vegas Management Analyst Elizabeth Lopez recently received the NAIOP and Prologis Inclusion in CRE Scholarship for Women and Underrepresented Professionals.
The program is designed to prepare a pipeline of women and minorities for development and operations positions in commercial real estate and Lopez is one of ten recipients.
“Because of Elizabeth’s tenacity and desire to learn, she was selected from a broad pool of incredibly talented and motivated individuals — from all sectors of the commercial real estate industry, stated Julie Quisenberry, Real Estate Specialist for the City of Las Vegas.
As part of the program, each of the recipients will have the opportunity to earn the NAIOP Certificate of Advanced Study in Commercial Real Estate Development at no cost, a comprehensive program built on core competencies critical to success in the development industry and delivered through courses in the NAIOP Center for Education. Recipients also traveled to I.CON West 2019: The Industrial Conference, (June 6-7, Long Beach, California), where they met with industry mentors and connected with industrial real estate leaders from across North America.
Lopez stated she is very fortunate and truly honored to be a part of this program where amazing leaders recognize and encourage the need for diversity and inclusion.
“As an emerging leader, it is important for the underrepresented professionals to have a seat at the table and to have a voice because it provides innovation and collaboration, said Lopez. “This award will provide me with the valuable tools and education needed through the NAIOP certification and mentorship. And, with these tools, I will be able to make a difference and create positive impact in my organization and community by being a represented professional in commercial real estate. “
